)The preferred reading is what the producer is trying to make the audience see.
)The oppositional reading is what the audience may see that goes against the preferred reading.
)The producer tries to perceive teenagers as aggressive and reckless in the Harry Brown movie.
)Young people might reject this because it is only showing the negative things that a small amount of teens are like.
)The preferred reading for the MacDonald advert is that this burger is filled with organic delicious ingredients and that is very healthy. However, the oppositional reading is that this burger is very unhealthy and disgusting as it is not the way that it is described and is actually much smaller. The negotiated reading is that although that burger is unhealthy and not the way it is described, it's still a guilty pleasure and people will still eat it no matter how bad it is for you. MacDonald's wish for people to see this burger as a healthier meal but if you look deeper you find out that they may be eating anything as their 'special sauce' ingredients are still very much a secret. Some may argue that this burger is healthy still.
)This is a Lucozade advertisement. The preferred reading for this is that Lucozade is full of nutrients and perfect for a workout or to get your stamina up. However the oppositional reading is that there is enough sugar in this drink to last you a week according to the amount of sugar cubes each person should have each day. The negotiated reading of this is that even though there is way too much sugar in it, this drink is perfectly suitable for the gym and is a great accessory for a workout. some believe that this drink is the perfect thing to keep you energy up for a run.
