Movie marketing: Film industry

1) I have chosen the film 'Billy Elliot' because there was an adaption of this movie made in 2005 with one of the musical producers as Elton John who is a very famous singer. this fascinates me.

2) This movie was produced by StudioCanal, Working Title Films, BBC Films, Arts Council of England, Tiger Aspect Productions and WT2 Productions

3)The distributor for the theatrical release of the film in the UK is BBC Three.

4) The genre of this film is drama music and romance.

5) It fits these genres as it as about a male child wanting to do ballet in and all girls class which is rather dramatic as there are many problems, not only did this happen his closet-gay friend has a crush on the ballet teacher which is where romance fits in. Because the movie is about dancing it has a musical element.

6) The main actor Jamie Bell is well known for movies such as 'The adventures of Tin Tin', 'King Kong' and 'Fantastic Four'.

7) The UK release date was 29 September 2000.

10) It got amazing reviews one person said " Filled with amazing characters, a great plot, and circumstances that seem too real, the wonderfully underplayed value of it takes precedence over anything set against it."

11) "Jamie Bell plays the lead role, in an astonishing performance. Amazing dance routines done in perfect sync, I can just imagine the time he had memorizing all the steps"

"This is a move that truly should be shown to middle schoolers all over the country, showing that you should believe in yourself and no one else."

12) The original budget for this film was $5,000,000.

13) In opening weekend the film made $215,681.

14) The film made  $109,280,263 in total.

15)This ,movie was definitely successful.

16) Stephen Daldry has previously directed " The hours" a drama 2002 and "The Reader" a drama romance 2008.

17) The main star in this film is Jamie Bell.

18) Jamie Bell is well known for movies such as 'The adventures of Tin Tin', 'King Kong' and 'Fantastic Four'. None are alike to this film.
